A seasoned artist from San Paulo, Brazil, she paints with Acrylic on Canvas. A nice looking lady with a captivating smile has greeted me as I enter the studio. Beautiful paintings with great colors are being displayed in her large and airy studio, located at
18660
Collins Ave. Sunny Isles. I asked her to define her art. "I am
painting mainly contemporary abstracts and figurative style. Art
is to feel something". Working with the great masters of Brazil's art community gave her depth and style. Fernanda was influenced and inspired by native art, oriental art and mythology. What about your painting called Peace? I asked. "I paint motives of hope and peace, especially this year. People need to slow down from the daily routine and savor peace and tranquility within themselves. Then to reflect the feelings to each other. Peace has no boundaries. In Brazil and in America there are wars too. Urban crime, war against the innocents. Through my paintings I want to convey peace and softness. People should be happy and satisfied with their surroundings. Art paintings in your home can help you to cope with life. Colors and figures are good for the mind". I see a lot of natural paintings on the
studio walls. Large canvases of nude women and men. You like to paint nude a lot. I commented to Fernanda. "Yes, we do not have to be ashamed of our bodies. We come to the world naked. We are all different from each other and I
like to paint them. Do you want to model for me ... ?"
Perhaps one day, I uttered an answer. Fernanda Meirelles hope
for a better world: "I want people to be transported to a
world of hope and beauty through my art..." I think you are already doing it, I said. We want to wish you luck and
we urge our readers to visit your studio, to meet you and
to enjoy your art.
