The South Florida Women's Committee for Shaare Zedek Jerusalem Medical Center held its 24th Annual Luncheon this year at the Hotel Alexandre in Miami Beach on Sunday February 4th Over 150 women attended to see June Blum of Bal Harbour be their Honoree for her many years of service to the Medical Center and many other Jewish charities. June has been an active philanthropist for decades as has her husband Dr. Irwin Blum. As June said in her remarks "everyone has to go to Jerusalem and see the Medical Center and the wonderful things the Hospital does, especially with the little newborn and premature babies."

Miriam Zabel, President of the South Florida Women's Committee and Chairwoman of the Luncheon said "we are so thrilled to have June as our Honoree for our 24th Anniversary Luncheon as she has been so active in so many organizations here in South Florida, as well as Westport, Connecticut and Boston, Massachusetts."

The Luncheon has raised over its 24 years, millions of dollars for Shaare Zedek Medical Center. This year's luncheon raised over $250,000. As Miriam Zabel said "the South Florida women are the heart and soul of the American Committee" in which the South Florida Region raises over $8,000,000 a year for the Medical Center."

The women were entertained by the Shirlee Baron Klezmar Band which had everyone dancing between the tables and swaying in their seats. "It was a great success!" said Rocky Goodman of Bay Harbor one of the long time South Florida Committee women, who also made the magnificent centerpieces Rabbi Rachel Levine, whose mother and father, Mark and Selma Denburg z"l were hard workers and advocates for Shaare Zedek, did the motzi.
